Position: Bilingual Housing Case Manager

Description

Volunteers of America Colorado (VOAC) is dedicated to supporting the older adult, veteran, and domestic violence survivors. We combine relationship‐building, volunteerism and quality services to lift and support our neighbors toward self‐sufficiency and full potential.

Position Title

Housing Case Manager – Full Time (40 hours)

Location

8000 W Colfax Ave, Lakewood, CO 80203

Pay Range

$24.50 – 25.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Delivery:
    Conduct needs‑based assessments, determine program eligibility, and provide individualized case management to support shelter stability and housing goals.
  • Housing Support:
    Assist participants in securing and maintaining housing, including rental application, lease interpretation, and connection to income and public benefits.
  • Community Engagement:
    Participate in outreach, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and attend relevant meetings and training.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    Maintain thorough records in Service Point, HMIS, and other databases required by funders and organization.
  • Program Development:
    Develop specialized services based on participant needs and apply current best practices in service delivery.
  • Safety & Crisis Response:
    Promote physical and emotional safety within the facility, de‑escalate crises, and engage emergency personnel when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or related field, or related experience.
  • At least one full year of experience working with people experiencing homelessness.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Colorado driver’s license, state‑mandated automobile insurance, and reliable vehicle to transport guests.
  • Complete program credentialing process, including criminal and civil background checks within 30 days of hire and required funder training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with current housing market information and available resources.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and severe mental health concerns.
  • Crisis intervention skills.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Expert written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High competency with Microsoft Office suite and cloud‑based applications.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
Working Conditions &

Physical Requirements
  • Drive between programs and community meetings.
  • Cover shifts at residential programs.
  • Quickly go up and down stairs regularly throughout shift.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs a few times per day.
  • Exposure to severe weather conditions and other health related conditions consistent with shelters.
  • Auditorily and visually supervise the milieu.
  • No higher noise level than low to moderate.
