• Perform preventive maintenance on customer and Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies (TBCT) owned equipment.
• Perform corrective maintenance activities such as troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls and electronic systems.
• Decontaminates, diagnose, test, troubleshoot, calibrate, perform release testing and package electromechanical medical devices as well as generate necessary documentation.
• Support equipment performance improvement projects and process validation activities.
• Contribute to process optimization and scrap reduction efforts through equipment design improvements, improvements to operating and maintenance procedures and maintenance activities.
• Independently troubleshoot equipment with a high degree of quality and reliability.
• Continue to develop technical skills and knowledge (e.g. additional schooling, self-study, online training, and learning from more knowledgeable team members).
• Assist in developing the technical capabilities and skills of less experienced technicians/associates.
• Learns and demonstrates proficiency with advanced maintenance practices and techniques.
• Responds and executes work with a sense of urgency and utilizes support systems to minimize turn-around time.
• Perform all tasks in accordance with company and department policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Demonstrated understanding and compliance with all safety requirements.
• Works to support department KPI’s/Metrics/Objectives.
• Services are completed in a timely fashion and correct the first time.
• Collect and report equipment quality information to quality and production engineering.
• Will encounter bio-hazardous devices and materials that require decontamination.
• May lead special projects.
• Requires adherence to policies and procedures for biohazard contaminated materials and machines.

Education

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience.
• Two-year technical degree, equivalent education, or experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Skills

• Proficient with tools, instrumentation, and test equipment.
• Proficient with metric and English measurement systems.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical drawings, flowcharts, and other drawings of a technical nature.
• Basic Electrical/ Mechanical knowledge concerning machines and tools including design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Can apply fundamental skills to troubleshoot areas that they are not necessarily subject matter experts on.
• Demonstrated understanding and compliance with all safety requirements.
• Basic Troubleshooting/ Demonstrated ability in Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic/Pneumatic, Root cause analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate with peers.
• Maintain communication with different levels of departments and peers about findings, product quality, and troubleshooting through e-mail, texts, and voice calls.
• Proficient with, and effective use of Microsoft office applications.
• Ability to manage time effectively and in accordance with priorities.
• Action oriented and takes initiative to resolve emerging issues.
• Adaptable and flexible.
• Works effectively and professionally with operations, and technical team members.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Pursue internal qualifications in Electrical Safety, RF Welding, and other applicable technical skills per defined timeline.
