Overview
We are seeking a Senior Industrial Wastewater Treatment Engineer located in Lakewood, Colorado to lead cross‑disciplinary teams on mining and industrial wastewater projects.
Responsibilities- Serve several sectors including mining, manufacturing, oil and gas, power, waste, and remediation.
- Lead a team of early‑career and mid‑level engineers on industrial water treatment projects from concept through detailed design, procurement, and construction support.
- Collaborate and coordinate within a multidisciplinary project environment.
- Perform and/or review tasks related to:
- Support current operating plants with optimization and process decisions.
- Conduct bench‑scale and pilot‑scale treatability studies.
- Analyze and manage water quality data.
- Perform alternative evaluations, cost estimates, pre‑feasibility and feasibility report preparation.
- Process development work including equipment sizing and reagent consumption calculations.
- Create process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and general arrangements.
- Prepare mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
- Provide procurement and construction support.
- Support environmental permitting.
- Participate in business development opportunities and assist in developing proposals.
- Provide mentorship to early‑career and mid‑level engineers.
- Achieve key performance goals through project work.
- Collaborate with various disciplines to provide future‑ready solutions.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering with a focus on water treatment or a closely related discipline.
- Professional Engineer registration.
- 12+ years of post‑education experience on industrial and mining water treatment projects.
- Strong process development and detailed design skills.
- Experience managing engineering teams on complex projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and engineering graphics software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong self‑leadership and persuasive communication with clients, regulators, and team members.
- Ability to provide critical review for documents and high‑complexity technical deliverables.
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience coordinating and directing subcontractors and consistent task completion.
- Record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to health, safety, and drug/alcohol policies.
- Flexibility with schedules and the ability to adapt in a pressured environment.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
- MSHA certification.
- OSHA HAZOWOPER certification (or equivalent).

CompensationExpected salary (Colorado only): $115,100 – $192,390
