Patron Experience Associate (Part-Time) - Lakewood Library

Join Jefferson County Public Library as a Patron Experience Associate at the Lakewood Library. This part‑time position (20 hours/week) is eligible for standard benefits including dental, medical, vision, PTO, holidays, retirement matching, wellness programs and tuition reimbursement.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service, referrals, and reader’s advisory assistance to patrons in person, by phone, mail, and electronically; locate materials using manual and electronic databases.
• Refer patrons to community resources and advise on online searching; create a positive inviting atmosphere.
• Promote and present programs, classes, workshops both in the Library and off site; may present programming training or classes to the public.
• Assist with collection development, weeding, and maintenance; suggest program needs.
• Participate in operational organization: maintenance of appearance and safety, content for web/social media, design of displays and exhibits; stay current on trends and technologies.
• Assist in coordinating the work of ancillary staff and volunteers; assume responsibility for the Library operation in absence of the Public Services Manager.
• Comply with patron privacy and confidentiality laws, ADA requirements, and library policies.

Qualifications:

• Minimum one year of work experience, preferably in customer service or a public library.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to determine patron needs.
• Ability to comply with laws governing patron privacy, confidentiality, and ADA.
• English speaking;
  Spanish speaking experience is preferred.
