Account Director (Finance) JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary

Purpose:

  • Responsible for generation of new business/revenue and maintenance of existing business/revenue on Tallgrass interstate natural gas pipeline and storage assets, including contracting and renewing customers for firm and interruptible services, customer support, and research and analysis.
Minimum requirements

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Finance, Business, Accounting, Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience actively working in the natural gas industry.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
Competencies, Skills & Abilities:
  • High desire to understand utilization of Tallgrass assets and how they are impacted by industry dynamics.
  • Strong and creative negotiation skillset.
  • Highly motivated individual requiring minimal supervision to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to perform data and research analysis, draw a conclusion from the analysis, present and support the conclusion.
  • Good verbal skills, listening skills and ability to problem‑solve.
  • Ability to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.
  • Ability to work with a team in a collaborative fashion, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
  • Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work.
Physical Demands:
  • Sitting; standing; walking or moving throughout facility; driving; talking; seeing (specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus); hearing; feeling; bending or stooping; squatting or crouching; reaching; kneeling; pushing; pulling; lifting to 25 lbs.

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.

Working Conditions:
  • Occasional travel is anticipated and required.
  • Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non‑working hours.
  • Successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • None
Above the minimum requirements, not required but advantageous in this position:
  • Working knowledge of FERC natural gas regulations.
  • Working knowledge of the North American natural gas infrastructure and pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of the North American natural gas markets.
  • Previous trading and/or origination/business development experience.
  • Transactional experience with natural gas pipelines, producers, storage, and end users.
  • Familiar with Tallgrass natural gas pipeline and storage assets.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
Compensation:
  • The annual salary range for this position will be $100,000-$185,000/yr.
