Skilled Carpenter

Job Description

We are hiring a Skilled Carpenter / Remodeling Apprentice to join our residential remodeling crew. This position includes hands-on work in bathrooms, kitchens, flooring, trim, framing, drywall, painting, and general construction tasks.

The ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, has solid remodeling skills, and is able to work as part of a team on various residential projects. You will not be working independently, you will be working alongside the crew.

Most projects will be in the Austin / Lakeway / Dripping Springs area, with current work for the next few months located in New Braunfels and San Antonio. Basic hand tools are preferred but not required-all major tools and equipment are provided.

Duties

• Assist with demolition, cleanup, and daily jobsite preparation
• Perform trim carpentry such as baseboards, casing, and detailed finish work
• Paint, caulk, patch, and perform basic drywall repairs
• Help with framing support and installation
• Measure, cut, and carry materials such as lumber, trim, drywall, and flooring
• Install flooring (LVP, carpet removal, tile prep assistance)
• Assist with door installation preparation and cabinet adjustments
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely
• Load and unload materials and maintain jobsite organization
• Follow direction from the lead carpenter or owner and complete assigned tasks
• Support various remodeling projects including bathrooms, kitchens, flooring, and general home improvements

Skills & Requirements

• Must have 2–5+ years experience in residential remodeling or carpentry
• Strong trim/finish carpentry skills
• Able to do painting prep + finishing with clean lines
• Basic framing skills
• Cabinetry paint, installation and finish out.
• Drywall repair and patching ability
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Experience using power tools (saws, drills, sanders, nail guns, etc.)
• Ability to lift materials and work on your feet throughout the day
• Must have reliable transportation to job sites
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
• Must follow instructions and communicate clearly
• Basic hand tools preferred; major tools provided

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay range: $25+ per hour (depending on experience and skill level)
• Raises based on skill, reliability, workmanship, and attitude
• Full-time, steady weekly hours
• Majority of long-term work is in Austin / Lakeway / Dripping Springs, with current projects in New Braunfels and San Antonio for the next several months.
• All major tools and equipment provided

Skill Verification Period

All new hires will begin with a short, paid skill-verification period at $25/hr during this time, we assess workmanship, reliability, and ability to perform remodeling tasks safely and correctly as part of our crew.

At the end of the verification period, your permanent hourly rate will be set based on proven skill level and performance.

If an applicant is not able to perform the required tasks during the verification period, the position may end early. This ensures we maintain a safe, efficient jobsite and the right fit for our team.
