Join Our Team as Assistant Store Manager
Are you a person who knows the difference between a Lager and an IPA? Do you enjoy the spirit of great customer service? We’re looking for a high‑energy, organized, and reliable Assistant Store Manager to help lead our team and keep the good times pouring!
In this role, you will:- Create a welcoming and fun customer service environment.
- Help interview, train, and mentor our part‑time team.
- Check in shipments and organize the stockroom.
- Work with the Store Manager on product placement and eye‑catching displays.
- Ensure the store is clean, safe, and easy to navigate.
- Maintain accurate inventory by assisting with physical counts and entering receiving invoices.
- Draft employee schedules and ensure all liquor laws are strictly followed.
- Maintain and encourage good public relations with customers and vendors.
- Establish a positive customer service environment.
- Attend all required staff meetings, employee meetings and other management or industry related meetings and seminars as directed.
- Complete interviews for part‑time employees as directed by the Store Manager.
- Communicate with Store Manager and staff daily.
- Complete OSHA safety requirement checklist on a monthly basis.
- Assist Store Manager with product placements, ordering and display objectives.
- Promote efficient, effective and accurate product workflow.
- Document and report all maintenance issues.
- Prepare first draft of employee schedule bi‑weekly.
- Complete banking responsibilities and rounds when necessary.
- Provide leadership assistance (working with part‑time staff, securing cash, receipts, opening and closing store).
- Enforce policies, procedures and laws related to selling liquor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Location: Lakeville Liquors – Keokuk, 20880 Keokuk Avenue
2026 anticipated starting wage: $30.29 per hour.
Salary range: $30.29 to $39.20 per hour.
- Monday – Saturday: 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Sunday: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Holiday hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Formal education beyond high school is preferred.
- Minimum of two years practical experience and knowledge in the alcohol beverage industry.
- Excellent liquor, beer and wine product knowledge.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to work a schedule that includes a variety of days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Will be required to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Previous key holder, lead or assistant management experience in retail establishment preferred; liquor store retail experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software and point of sale software.
- Strong logical and reasoning skills to evaluate solutions.
- Regular exertion of up to 25 pounds, frequent up to 50 pounds, occasional up to 100 pounds.
- Standing, walking, speaking, hearing, using hands.
- Repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting; standard vision required.
- Vocal communication required; hearing required.
- Visual inspection involving small defects/parts; moderate noise environment.
