Seasonal Park Maintenance II

Overview

The Seasonal Park Maintenance II is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of City parks and facilities, with a focus on the operation of large equipment.

• Field Maintenance: Operate equipment to maintain all City ball fields for daily games and tournaments, including dragging and preparing playing surfaces.
• Lawn Care: Operate large rotary mowers to maintain the appearance of City parks and facilities.
• General Maintenance: Perform a variety of other maintenance tasks as assigned, including but not limited to:

• Assisting with the repair and maintenance of park equipment
• Assisting with the installation and removal of park amenities
• General groundskeeping duties such as weeding, trimming, and raking

This position provides routine to semi-skilled seasonal work in the Parks Divisions. Candidates must be available April – October.
Up to 40 hours a week.

• Some knowledge of the tools, methods and materials used in general maintenance.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
• Ability to operate a variety of motorized vehicles and equipment in a safe manner.
• Physical strength sufficient to complete the tasks assigned during varying weather conditions.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
• Ability to operate or be trained to operate various equipment as mentioned above.
• Must be able to work Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to work through October.
• Standard work hours 6:30 a.m.
