Cloud Infrastructure & Identity Architect; Minnesota

RBA Consulting is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure & Identity Architect to join our growing cloud and security practice. This is a contract to hire role. In this role, you will help organizations develop and execute cloud strategies while designing and delivering modern infrastructure and identity solutions built on the Microsoft platform.

You will work with business and technical stakeholders to define cloud adoption strategies, identity governance frameworks, and secure enterprise architectures across Azure and Microsoft 365. This role combines strategic consulting, architecture design, and hands‑on technical leadership.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, shaping enterprise cloud strategy, and working directly with clients to deliver impactful solutions.

• Partner with client leadership to define and develop cloud adoption strategies and roadmaps
• Assess existing infrastructure and recommend modernization and cloud transformation approaches
• Develop reference architectures, governance models, and operational frameworks for cloud environments
• Guide organizations in adopting secure, scalable cloud‑first infrastructure strategies
• Advise clients on identity strategy, Zero Trust architecture, and cloud security best practices
• Design and implement Azure cloud infrastructure solutions
• Architect hybrid and cloud‑native environments using Microsoft Azure
• Deploy and manage cloud networking including VPN, Express Route, and DNS
• Implement infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and operational automation
• Lead cloud migrations and infrastructure modernization initiatives

• Architect enterprise identity solutions using Microsoft Entra
• Implement Conditional Access, MFA, and Zero Trust security frameworks
• Design identity lifecycle management and governance processes
• Implement B2B and cross‑tenant collaboration solutions
• Conduct security reviews and implement remediation strategies

• Architect and deploy Microsoft 365 solutions including:
• Exchange Online
• Microsoft Teams
• SharePoint Online
• One Drive
• Endpoint Manager / Intune
• Implement governance and security across the Microsoft ecosystem
• Build operational workflows using Power Platform and Azure services
• Implement infrastructure‑as‑code and Dev Ops‑friendly infrastructure deployment

• Work directly with client stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements
• Lead architecture discussions and technical strategy workshops
• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering teams during solution delivery

• 10+ years in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, or architecture roles
• Experience developing cloud strategy, cloud adoption frameworks, and transformation roadmaps
• Deep experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
• Strong expertise with Entra  / Azure AD identity architecture
• Experience implementing Conditional Access, MFA, and identity governance
• Strong scripting and automation experience (Power Shell preferred)
• Experience designing secure cloud and hybrid environments

• Experience with identity lifecycle management platforms
• Knowledge of cross‑tenant identity collaboration
• Kubernetes or container infrastructure experience
• Familiarity with Dev Ops automation practices
• Security certifications such as CISSP
