Position SummaryA Program Therapist works closely with partnered psychiatric providers to lead care for youth in mental health crisis. The role is responsible for providing individual, family, and group therapy in an acute mental health setting (IOP, PHP, or inpatient mental health unit). The Program Therapist provides crisis intervention services, resource mobilization, or triage of psychosocial, emotional, or behavioral concerns, and is trained in the use of physical holds and restraints, capable of supporting or facilitating holds or restraints when needed.
The role works collaboratively to lead treatment for patients with high‑risk psychiatric needs such as suicidal or homicidal thoughts, or psychosis, and collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary care team to develop treatment goals, assess progress, and complete discharge or transition planning. The Program Therapist is an active participant in clinical supervision.
On‑site at the Lakeville campus.
License/Certification/Registration- Licensed as LGSW, LAMFT, or eligible for licensure in Minnesota (LMFT, LICSW, LPCC, LP); must pursue independent licensure and complete it within three years of employment.
- BLS required.
- Master’s degree from an accredited counseling, social work or marriage and family therapy program.
- One year of counseling experience in a healthcare or related pediatric setting preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in a pediatric‑related setting preferred.
- Curiosity and willingness to develop clinical skills toward independent judgement and autonomous work.
- Ability to manage competing demands in a fast‑paced clinical or hospital environment.
- Exhibits high professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and collaboration ability.
- Ability to assess and provide intervention services to children and adolescents in acute crisis or with suicidal ideation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation and BenefitsThe posted salary represents a market‑competitive range based on benchmark data. We consider market indicators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, internal equity, and organizational needs. The position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions requiring night, weekend, or on‑call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
