The Corporate Finance Director is responsible for financial leadership of the shared services organizations (e.g., IT, R&D, HR, Finance) and driving enhanced capital allocation through a focus on R&D spending and returns and supporting the 3M transformation program. This role will manage a team and partner with Finance leaders and senior operating leaders across 3M.

- Establishing clear spend, productivity, and ROI reporting for Corporate Staff Services with actionable KPIs
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance and organizational leaders to improve capital allocation, establish KPIs, manage spend, and drive greater visibility, analytics, investment effectiveness, and productivity.
- Support the 3M transformation program through evaluation of new operating models, identification and implementation of new productivity initiatives, etc.
- Identify and eliminate waste from current processes. Develop and implement a daily management system to drive financial outcomes and business accountability using data and data analytics
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Ten (10) years of Finance experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree in Finance from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years of Corporate Finance and/or Financial Planning and Analysis in a private, public, government or military environment
- Skills include people leadership, collaboration, communication and adaptability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence at the enterprise level, including governance routines across corporate functions (IT, R&D, HR, Finance) to drive spend discipline, investment prioritization, and accountability
- This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
May include up to 10% domestic travel.
