• Drive long distances to deliver materials to job sites in a timely manner.
• Load, unload and record cargo deliveries. Maintain paperwork.
• Refuel and clean vehicle.
• Inspect trucks and record issues. Report road incidents to the dispatcher and report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.
• Follow traffic laws and accident procedures.
• Keep an activities log and log hours. Plan routes using GPS system.
• Keep commercial driver requirements up to date.

• Proven work experience as a truck driver with extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc).
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc).

• Must possess a current and valid Class A CDL or commercial driver license.
• Must possess the ability to drive manual transmission AND no "Manual Transmission Restriction" on license.
• Must be able to pass requirements on a FMCSA Clearinghouse Query.
• Must provide a medical certificate.
• Repeated physical effort including driving for several hours per day and/or continuously, standing and walking for extended periods, loading and unloading equipment into and out of company vehicles, walking on varying ground surfaces and frequently lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Working from elevated platforms, ladders or truck beds.
• Operating hand/power tools, manual dexterity to operate keyboards and smart phones, physical agility to use arms, legs and hands repetitively.
• Working outdoors, working safely under adverse environmental and weather conditions which include high speed traffic areas, heavy construction equipment, fuel fumes and construction substances.
• Comfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction sites including placement of machinery and equipment, other employees and construction activities.
• Vision adequate to see moving vehicles, read highway construction MOT signs, read instructions, manuals, reports, and construction plans.
• Hearing adequate to hear approaching vehicles, audible commands at a distance from supervisors, conversations in person, and over the telephone.
• Communicating clearly - both written and verbally, ability to complete daily paperwork as required by supervisor.
• Working a flexible schedule which can include day or night shifts, weekends and/or holidays, adjusting to a changing work schedule, working overtime and working individually and as a team with other employees.
• Valid driver's license required, will require passing MVR and controlled substance test, may require background and criminal record check. Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
• Must maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
• Strong team building, decision‑making and people‑management skills.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
