We are building a diverse family in logistics with opportunities open to veterans and non-veterans alike.

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or for delivery to rental shop. Wash and detail vehicles, and fuel diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles following shop safety policies; record fuel activity and maintain inventories and reconciliation.
• Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units as required by company policies and procedures; check tire pressure and tread, fluid levels, lights, wash vehicle windows, change tires, inspect refrigeration units, and report issues to the shop.
• Maintain the fuel island area to Six Sigma standards; perform minor facility maintenance and other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments, including hands-on and online training, with stages such as Service Island, Technician I, and Technician II training.
  • Service Island Training: multi-point inspection, fueling and washing, environmental safety, safe driving, and cleanliness.
  • Technician I Training: preventive maintenance; tire and wheel; service bay tools.
  • Technician II Training: HD electrical; air and hydraulic brakes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year of mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
• Demonstrated customer service skills and strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn to use and maintain equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently and as part of a team; professionally represent Ryder and engage with employees and customers.
• Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills; good attendance and accountability.
• Basic computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
• Beginner knowledge of machines and tools, and shop management systems, preferred.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred; DOT safety regulated position; safety-sensitive role; hours determined by state law.

• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass a Ryder drug test, a DOT physical, a Ryder road test, and a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (from the last three years).

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or customer-specific badging or background requirements.

• No experience needed; on-the-job paid training; annual merit pay increases.
