The Strategic Account Manager is an outside sales position primarily responsible for managing and growing revenue within a geographic market. This senior role focuses on equipment rental sales and requires effective communication with high‑level stakeholders to build deep relationships that address customer needs comprehensively.

Essential Functions
  • Generate revenue with a select group of companies within the commercial construction space.
  • Daily account management and revenue growth through visits to various customer offices, facilities, and job sites.
  • Develop, plan, and organize sales strategies to achieve desired results and goals.
  • Ensure effective implementation of products and services.
  • Identify customer needs and react appropriately while understanding market conditions and local competitors’ pricing.
  • Resolve customer issues and concerns.
  • Assist branches in staying abreast of customer changes and job site problems.
  • Support all team members.

Required

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma.
  • 4‑year bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in equipment‑related industries or construction.
  • History of consistent and superior performance.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Work experience in a customer service or sales environment.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships with large accounts.

Military service will be considered in lieu of education or certification experience as applicable.

Work Environment
  • Consistent with a construction environment and equipment yard.
  • Outdoor exposure to elements.
Travel Required

Constant driving to and from customer job sites and offices.

Physical Demands
  • Requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
  • Walking on uneven terrain and at times up and down hill.
  • Occasional load of small equipment into a pickup truck and the ability to hitch, tow and unhitch towable equipment.
