Responsibilities- As an Assistant Manager, you are responsible for everything that happens during your shift, including all cost controls, inventory control, cash control and customer relations.
- Set the example and follow all policy and procedures 100% of the time, expecting the same from your crew.
- Staffing, Paperwork, Cost Controls, Cash Control, Food Management, adherence to schedule and standards, excellent customer service, attendance and punctuality, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability.
- Operate all equipment; stock ingredients from delivery area to storage and work areas; prepare product; receive and process telephone orders; take inventory and complete associated paperwork; maintain cleanliness of equipment and facility.
- Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
- Mathematical proficiency: add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately; may use a calculator; ability to handle monetary transactions and make correct change.
- Verbal and written communication to take and process orders.
- Eye-hand coordination for rapid and accurate movements; ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing outdoor tasks.
- In-store temperatures range from 36 to 90 degrees or higher; sudden temperature changes in work areas and outside.
- Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust; cramped quarters including walk-in cooler.
- Hot surfaces and tools up to 500+ degrees; sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
- Standing for most tasks; walking short distances; ability to lift up to 50 pounds with cases of ingredients and supplies; heavy cases stacked up to 72 inches high.
- Carrying and pushing/pulling trays, dough, and supplies; climbing stairs or ladders for price changes or maintenance as needed; bending, crouching, reaching, and hand tasks required throughout the shift.
- Depth perception; ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces; strong sensing and observation skills.
- Temperaments to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, manage stress, meet quality standards, analyze data, and make decisions.
