LPN Specialist II / Medical Assistant Specialist II - Urgent Care South - Full Time
Full‑time position at Watson Clinic LLP in Lakeland, FL. Ideal candidate must be an LPN or MA licensed in Florida. This role involves patient triage via telephone, medication administration, patient education, emergency response, documentation, patient flow, and interaction with other clinic staff. The position requires significant walking, standing, lifting up to 30 pounds, and frequent use of computers and medical equipment.
Exposure to live vaccines and biohazardous material is possible. The candidate must possess a Florida LPN license, CPR certification, and must acquire ACLS, PALS, and IV certification within 90 days. Preferred experience includes two years in an urgent care, ER, or critical care setting.
- Conduct telephone triage to identify and evaluate patient needs.
- Administer medication, including injections, and document medication given or prescribed by the ordering physician.
- Identify patient and family education needs and provide instruction.
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations in an appropriate manner.
- Adhere to Clinical Services policies and procedures when documenting information in the patient’s medical record.
- Facilitate the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the physician's office.
- Maintain a physical presence across the Care Team station and exam rooms to interact with patients and stock supplies.
- Operate computers and office equipment such as nebulizers, fax machines, copiers, and printers.
- Communicate accurately with clinic staff and external partners (providers, call center representatives, receptionists, patient financial services, managed care, specialty pharmacies).
- Assist with procedures and handle exposure to biohazardous materials as necessary.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing and hold an active Florida state license.
- Certified in CPR within 3 months of employment.
- ACLS & PALS certification required within the first 90 days of employment.
- IV certification required within 90 days of employment.
- Preferred:
Two years’ experience in an urgent care, ER, critical care, or hospital setting.
