Job SummaryResponsible for leading a medium to large Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) with 3-5 operating rooms and up to 50 team members. The position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all activities of the facility according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the organization. Accountable for patient safety, management of the environment of care, personnel, materials, and equipment, education of personnel and administrative duties.
Accountable for clinical and financial outcomes and for operational and cost‑containment decisions.

- Office open Monday-Thursday 5:30am-4:30pm
- You may need to work a little earlier/later as needed
- No late nights, weekends or on‑call shifts!
- Five to seven years of ASC experience preferred
- At least one year of leadership experience in an Operating Room or ASC setting is required
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required in the state where the worksite is located
- Demonstrable skills in leadership, management, interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, and problem solving
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and rights to work in the United States
- Favorable result on background check required
- Directly supervise employees in the Surgery Center
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Interview, hire, train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline; address complaints and resolve problems
- Develop clinical procedures that ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality
- Develop admission and discharge procedures and assure that pre‑admission criteria are appropriately met
- Research and prepare cost‑reduction proposals and implement them as applicable
- Evaluate ongoing patient care and report significant patient problems to appropriate team members
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure personnel policy development and communication to staff for consistency in employee relations
- Serve as resource and role model for staff
- Plan, evaluate, recommend, and implement new initiatives when appropriate
- Select and hire employees according to guidelines; monitor, coach, develop, and evaluate staff performance on an ongoing basis
- Ensure facility meets all related local, state, federal, and accrediting body rules and regulations
- Ensure compliance with all surgery center policies and procedures and governmental regulations pertaining to controlled substances, infection control, patient confidentiality, CPR, ACLS, safety and risk management, quality improvements, emergency codes and evacuation, professional licensure and credentialing, DOH, CMS, JACHO, accreditation bureau and all other voluntary regulatory requirements
- Contribute to organizational ASC development plan
- Establish and maintain effective working relations with vendors, employees, managers and physicians
- Assist with the development of patient education material
- Identify variances to budget and present solutions to correct variances
- Monitor patient experience feedback and contribute to the process of resolving complaints and service issues
- Maintain the safety, security, and confidentiality of medical records
- Organize and participate in required MEC, Governing Body, and QAPI meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Demonstrable skills in leadership, management, interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, and problem solving
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
