Overview

Quality Zone Team Lead – Driving quality excellence at the point of production.

Location:

Lakeland, Florida

Shift: 1st Shift

Your impact is big and bold. As a Quality Zone Lead, you’ll ensure every unit meets exacting sales agreements and Morgan’s engineering specs. Your keen eye for detail guarantees that only the best rolls out the door—because quality isn’t just a goal, it’s our promise!

What a Day in Your Life Looks Like
  • Safety of Team Members
    Actively monitor team safety behaviors and workplace conditions within your zone and communicate any issues to the Supervisor and Maintenance as needed.
  • Interpretation of Documents
    Thoroughly understand work orders, bills of material (BOMs), data releases, and drawings, and effectively train team members on their use.
  • Tooling Availability and Maintenance
    Ensure team members have the necessary tools and equipment within the work center to perform their roles and maintain those tools to prevent downtime during the shift.
    Manage tool vending through MSC machines and understand their operation and usage.
  • 5S Practices
    Lead 5S within the zone, ensuring tools and equipment have designated locations and that team members follow established standards. Complete weekly 5S audits and communicate results and corrective actions on PPS boards.
  • Training New Team Members
    Responsible for training new team members on quality expectations and standards.
  • Quality of Product – Work Center Containment
    Accountable for product quality within the assigned zone and understand all applicable quality standards. Maintain quality discipline on the floor and train team members on quality expectations and standards.
  • Developing Leaders
    Develop the next WC Zone Team Lead and QC Work Center Team Leads.
  • 5S
    Maintain cleanliness and organization within assigned areas. Understand the 5S audit process and drive continuous improvement; conduct 5S audits and review trends.
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles
    Understand Lean concepts including JBPCO Lean Strategy, Customer Satisfaction, Team Building and Respect for People, 8 wastes, Standard Work, TAKT, Quick Changeover (QCO), Process Flow, Kaizen & Continuous Improvement, and Problem Solving.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance, ideally with 3+ years in manufacturing or QA environments
  • Strong, clear, and effective communication skills to collaborate and lead with confidence
  • Exceptional focus and attention to detail, with the ability to concentrate for extended periods while following safety protocols and procedures
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic computer tools to support daily tasks and reporting
  • Must be 18 years or older
