TRI Engineering Tech Site Supervisor

Position Summary

Engineering technician, with an emphasis on site supervision, who, with guidance from the VP of Engineering and Senior Engineering staff, performs and/or oversees both mechanical and electrical installation and maintenance, assists the Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Controls Engineering teams with system startups, testing, debug, commissioning and customer standby support. The role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with both project and customer specifications.

This position requires strong electro‑mechanical technical expertise combined with leadership, coordination and safety oversight.

• Successfully plans and completes assigned projects and tasks.
• Exhibits electro‑mechanical aptitude and provides innovative approaches to problem solving.
• Communicates clearly with customers, equipment vendors and installation subcontractors while developing and supporting both a safe, team environment.
• Performs or oversees installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electro‑mechanical systems, equipment and machinery.
• Performs or oversees preventive, reactive and corrective maintenance.
• Performs or assists with panel building.
• Reads and interprets layout drawings, schematics, technical drawings and manuals.
• Conducts or supports inspections, testing, debug and system commissioning.
• Strives at all times to provide premier service to both internal and external customers.
• Identifies electro‑mechanical issues and implements effective solutions.
• Ensures the highest quality of work from our internal team members and vendors, resulting in total customer satisfaction.
• Assists in maintaining a healthy work environment by following company, customer, general contractor and job site standards and procedures.
• Positively affects the Engineering department in order to consistently exceed corporate quarterly and annual sales goals in profitability and revenue.

• Functions with minimum supervision and oversight while adhering to Company policies and procedures.
• Plans, schedules, conducts, coordinates and oversees the detailed activities of the assigned work after gaining a complete understanding of the project requirements and project schedule.
• Participates, assists, oversees, prepares and coordinates the completion of all customer and/or general contractor required training and job site documentation forms.
• Participates, assists, oversees, conducts job safety meetings, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
• Participates, assists, oversees and/or takes the lead with receiving and check‑in of system mechanical and electrical equipment deliveries.
• Participates, assists, oversees and/or takes the lead with the receipt, inventory and turnover of system spare parts deliveries to our customers.
• Implements orders and manages both mechanical and electrical installation subcontractor agreements.
• Oversees both mechanical and electrical installation teams and activities.
• Monitors quality of work and performs inspections to ensure compliance.
• Communicates project status, issues and updates with project managers, engineers, customer.
• Addresses onsite issues, delays or safety concerns and implements corrective actions.
• Practices and promotes teamwork and leads by example.
• Travels as required for project coordination activities, training, etc.

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience, as an engineering or electro‑mechanical technician and/or site supervisor.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on jobsites.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of electro‑mechanical systems, tools and equipment.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
• Proficiency using MS Office products and the internet.
