Infrastructure Analyst Iii

Overview

INFRASTRUCTURE ANALYST III - FULL TIME at Jump Start Games.

• Monitors the performance of the networks.
• Maintains disk space on all networks on a daily basis.
• Tracks server utilization statistics and makes recommendations for more efficient use.
• Monitors network traffic on backbone and suggests ways to optimize data transfer between workstations and servers.
• Evaluates the performance of routers and makes recommendations for improving performance.
• Monitors the performance of all servers and gateways.
• Monitors network printing and evaluates the need for redistributing print jobs and adding print servers.
• Maintains a log of user problems to evaluate the relationship they may have with the network.

• Performs upgrades to networks and servers.

• Provides written recommendations including justification of the desired upgrade to Senior Network Analyst.
• Develops a written plan for every upgrade that will be performed.
• Notifies the customer prior to any major system changes or repairs.
• Performs upgrades at a time that is convenient to the customers (i.e., nights or weekends as needed).
• Thoroughly tests all network functions after any upgrade to ensure full user functionality the following day.

• Implements new technologies.

• Evaluates new software that may enhance the services offered by the network.
• Evaluates hardware changes that provide enhanced or additional functionality to the network.
• Keeps current on new industry standards and trends.
• Uses pilot programs for installation of new technologies.
• Evaluates different operating systems for performance and functionality.

• Maintains documentation.

• Maintains hardware configuration information on all network devices.
• Maintains software configuration information on all network devices.
• Documents network performance daily and provides documentation to management.
• Maintains a diagram of the network layout.

Provides Level 3 support to the Help Desk.

• Education:
  
  Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience with servers and networking.
• Experience:
  
  Three to five years experience with microcomputer and server hardware installations, configuration and troubleshooting, including routers, switches, and wireless networking. Strong Windows Server skills and in-depth knowledge of Citrix and/or virtual servers.
• Three years experience with Microsoft Networks. Experience with Ethernet and network topology, including fiber and copper. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Other Requirements:
  Experience with TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS. Familiarity with SQL database servers.
