Position: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) (PRN)

Position: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
Facility: Wedgewood Healthcare and Rehabilitation
Location: Lakeland, Florida
Shift: PRN
Salary: $55 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and execute speech language pathology and audiology services, ensuring alignment with ASHA guidelines and physician orders.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators to the rehabilitation director, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, billing, and coding for residents receiving services.
  • Adhere to health inspection survey readiness, OSHA requirements, and other relevant regulations.
  • Promote safe work practices and accident prevention measures to protect staff and residents.
  • Maintain high standards of regulatory compliance for the speech language pathology department.
  • Supervise staff and promote a harmonious, compliant working environment.
  • Maintain and sanitize all speech language pathology and audiology equipment per facility guidelines.
  • Participate in safety drills, trainings, and fulfill responsibilities during emergency plan activation.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and staff through tact and professionalism.
  • Complete assigned training and skills competency as a condition of employment.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to speech language pathology and audiology services.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal with residents, families, and staff in a tactful and compassionate manner.
  • Must have the ability to handle difficult situations with patience and tact.
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment and contribute to overall patient care.
  • Compliance with facility policies and infection control procedures.
