The School Psychologist will coordinate and implement psychological services, which include academic and behavioral consultation emphasizing the problem‑solving model 衂 psycho educational assessment, individual/group counseling, and crisis intervention. The School Psychologist will work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, other school personnel, parents, and various community agencies to support the educational needs of students. The School Psychologist reports directly to the Supervisor of Psychological Services.
- SPECIFIC
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates actively in problem‑solving teams to assist in defining student difficulties, developing
interventions, and monitoring response to interventions. - Conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations of referred students in accordance with
departmental standards and in compliance with state Department of Education statutes and
federal regulations. - Interprets educational data and psychological findings to parents, school personnel, and other-looking
professionals during individual conferences and team meetings. - Consults with parents, students, school staff, and other professionals regarding student, class,
school or district issues. - Possess knowledge of legal, ethical, and professional issues related to the practice of school psychology.
- Participates in school and district‑level meetings as directed by the Supervisor of Psychological
Services. - Completes comprehensive psycho educational evaluations and produces written reports utilized for educational planning.
- Maintains accurate records regarding service provided.
- Participates in the formulation and implementation of in‑school intervention programs.
- Provides align mental health services to students.
- Participates in professional development activities to enhance practice. Provides professional
development to other educators and parents to increase their knowledge and skills. - Initiates, participates in, and contributes to the development of a school environment conducive
to learning. - Performs any other duties as assigned.
