Custom Job Purpose

This teacher position ensures all students master essential math skills at each grade level.

Instructional Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement a program of instruction aligned with district philosophy and adopted course of study.
  • Create purposeful lesson plans using effective teaching strategies.
  • Design a program of study that meets individual student needs.
  • Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Encourage student enthusiasm and good study habits.
  • Provide progress and interim reports as required.
  • Prepare substitute folder with requested information.
  • Assign tasks to paraprofessionals, tutors, and volunteers.
  • Identify learning problems and make referrals.
  • Demonstrate strong subject‑matter knowledge and effective oral & written communication.
Curriculum Development
  • Maintain current subject‑matter knowledge and support continuous curriculum improvement.
  • Assist in curriculum revision and written course updates.
  • Help select instructional materials.
  • Explore supplemental services for students.
Classroom Management
  • Develop classroom rules and discipline methods consistent with district guidelines.
  • Take precautions to protect students and materials.
  • Supervise students during school day.
  • Provide supervision when needed during brief absences.
Public Relations
  • Enforce board policy and school rules publicly.
  • Maintain punctual attendance and use of planning time.
  • Communicate positive program aspects to the public.
  • Collaborate with parents to strengthen student education.
  • Build cooperative relationships with staff.
Professional Growth
  • Continue learning through workshops, seminars, conferences, and advanced coursework.
  • Maintain membership in professional organizations.
  • Work with administration on in‑service training planning.
  • Attend required meetings.
Student Evaluation
  • Assess student accomplishments regularly using diverse assessment methods.
  • Adjust instruction based on results.
  • Perform duties required for accountability of instructional program.
  • Respect confidentiality of records in accordance with laws.
Non‑Essential Functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Work cooperatively with parents, districts and agencies.
  • Develop and communicate concepts in oral and written formats.

Education, Experience, and Certification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Certified, Qualified, and Highly Qualified as defined by assigned Course Code(s).
