Automotive Used Car Reconditioning Technician - Mazda Lakeland

Automotive Used Car Reconditioning Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. They will oversee the work of any apprentice technician assigned to them.

Job Expectations
  • Full repairs of any vehicle components.
  • Emission diagnostic and repair capabilities, using and understanding shop‑supplied diagnostic equipment to repair the vehicle properly and efficiently.
  • Power train diagnostics, repair, and rebuild (engine, transmissions, and rear ends).
  • Understanding of vehicle suspension and brake systems including ABS and related electrical systems, diagnosing and effectively repairing using diagnostic equipment and related materials.
  • Full knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and operations, including air bag systems.
  • Electrical systems diagnostics and full repairs from installing a battery or alternator to diagnosing and repairing wiring harnesses.
  • Full knowledge of A/C systems and their operation, must be able to diagnose and repair A/C systems and have full knowledge of A/C recovery and recharge.
  • Full understanding of special tools and their use; must be able to read, follow, and understand a wiring diagram, and be fully capable of using any shop‑related equipment from a laptop computer to an A/C machine, brake lathe, or alignment machine.
  • Must work efficiently, repair a vehicle within the proper time allotted, and repair properly.
  • Power train diagnostics repair and rebuild (engine, transmissions, and rear ends).
Minimum Qualifications
  • ASE Certification Preferred.
  • 3+ years experience on multi‑brand models.
  • Ability to read and comprehend.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Pass background screening requirements.
Additional Shop Information
  • Exclusive shop dispatching of all recon work.
  • A/C shop.
  • Ample shop bays to complete work with new and/or well‑maintained vehicle lifts.
  • Over 5.5 million dollars in parts inventory across the dealer network to get jobs completed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Schedule:

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Pay:
Pay range of $18–$28 per hour depending on experience and certifications.
