ECHO Incorporated is looking for a skilled Shipping Coordinator to join our team. The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and scheduling outbound freight, ensuring accurate shipping documentation, and supporting Distribution and Shipping operations in a manner that meets company standards for safety, accuracy, efficiency, and customer service.

1st Shift Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Starting at $19.00/HR! This position also qualifies for a yearly bonus!

Duties/Responsibilities
:

Outbound Freight (Primary Responsibility)

  • Schedule outbound freight with designated carriers.

  • Develop daily pickup schedules that meet service and efficiency standards.

  • Ensure freight drivers understand and adhere to their pickup schedules.

  • Verify that drivers sign in and out and direct them to their assigned dock positions.

  • Oversee the scheduling of trucks for outbound FTL and LTL shipments.

  • Ensure accurate Bills of Lading and packing slips are created using AS400.

  • Assist the Shipping Supervisor and Leaders with outbound shipments to ensure accuracy.

  • Confirm that proper labels and information are applied prior to shipping and maintain strong security practices at dock doors.

Documentation & Recordkeeping

  • Verify the accuracy of all shipping documents.

  • Gather and maintain all records related to shipping activities.

  • Update SharePoint with shipment loads, Bills of Lading, and pickups.

  • Close out Bills of Lading and organize files within the system.

  • Confirm that shipping counts match purchase orders and picking documents and assist in resolving discrepancies.

  • Collect and route all outbound freight documentation to the appropriate recordkeeping area.

Clerical & Communication

  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with carriers and drivers.

  • Work with Distribution Center operations and Shipping personnel to develop daily shipping schedules.

  • Maintain professional relationships with all Distribution Center personnel.

  • Answer phone calls and operate required office equipment and computer systems.

  • Oversee all paperwork associated with shipping and maintain organized files.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers as required.

  • Maintain a neat and orderly office environment.

Safety & Operations Support

  • Comply with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable safety standards.
  • Report safety issues or concerns to supervisor promptly.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as requested by management to support department and company operations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years of distribution experience required.

  • Strong math, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.

  • Demonstrated good judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Experience with personal computers required; experience with RF scanning equipment preferred.

  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management.
