Global Medical Response (GMR) is an authorized provider of the DOD Skill Bridge program, offering Service Members civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training and internships. Under Skill Bridge, GMR hosts active-duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of active-duty service. The Skill Bridge Program with GMR will run for up to 180 days.
We’re hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for our DOD Skill Bridge Fellowship to respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and deliver high-quality care, treatment, and customer service to patients.
Responsibilities- EMTs provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care, and deliver emergency services using appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
- Document patient information, condition, and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
- Use EMT skills to provide care, including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, and office tools.
- Operate an ambulance in accordance with applicable safety policies and traffic laws related to emergency medical response vehicles.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow EMTs.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
Required Qualifications
- Current Active-Duty Service Member
- Meets DoD Skill Bridge Qualifications
- Available to participate 90 days
- Obtain approval from your unit commander and agree that Skill Bridge participation can be terminated at any time by the Service if mission requirements dictate
- Work remotely in the continental US
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- State EMT License (as applicable)
- State Driver’s License
- BLS, NREMT
- Driving record compliant with company policy
- Pass Physical Agility Test
- Some work experience, preferably healthcare
