An established structural engineering firm in Southeast Florida is seeking a qualified Structural Inspector to support building restoration and threshold inspection projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of structural restoration and new construction projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in structural inspections, knowledge of the Florida Building Code, and strong technical and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from a four-year engineering program in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering;
  • Professional degree in Architecture;
  • Registration as a Building Inspector or General Contractor;
  • Four (4) years of Threshold Building inspection training on non-threshold buildings performed under the supervision of a Special Inspector who was in responsible charge of the trainee’s work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT certification
  • PE, RA, BN, CGC, or Building Inspector license
  • Experience in concrete restoration projects
  • Experience with Threshold Building inspections
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform special inspections on restoration and new construction projects
  • Conduct inspections of swing stages and scaffolding (training provided as needed)
  • Assist during the Construction Administration phase, including:
  • Review of shop drawings
  • RFIs
  • Field observations
  • Attend project meetings with clients and design professionals
  • Manage multiple projects and ensure timely execution
  • Prepare clear and detailed inspection reports
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the Florida Building Code (FBC)
  • Familiarity with structural standards such as ASCE, AISC, and ACI
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Comfortable working in field conditions, including heights and outdoor environments
