An established structural engineering firm in Southeast Florida is seeking a qualified Structural Inspector to support building restoration and threshold inspection projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of structural restoration and new construction projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in structural inspections, knowledge of the Florida Building Code, and strong technical and communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduation from a four-year engineering program in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering;
- Professional degree in Architecture;
- Registration as a Building Inspector or General Contractor;
- Four (4) years of Threshold Building inspection training on non-threshold buildings performed under the supervision of a Special Inspector who was in responsible charge of the trainee’s work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT certification
- PE, RA, BN, CGC, or Building Inspector license
- Experience in concrete restoration projects
- Experience with Threshold Building inspections
- Perform special inspections on restoration and new construction projects
- Conduct inspections of swing stages and scaffolding (training provided as needed)
- Assist during the Construction Administration phase, including:
- Review of shop drawings
- RFIs
- Field observations
- Attend project meetings with clients and design professionals
- Manage multiple projects and ensure timely execution
- Prepare clear and detailed inspection reports
- Knowledge of the Florida Building Code (FBC)
- Familiarity with structural standards such as ASCE, AISC, and ACI
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Comfortable working in field conditions, including heights and outdoor environments
- Exposure to diverse structural restoration and inspection projects
