Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who arrive for routine health needs or significant health decisions.
- The PSR I draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures.
- They have direct patient contact and create an environment of trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and collecting specimens in a safe, accurate and professional manner.
- The PSR I follows daily operational expectations, maintains a professional environment and performs both forensic and clinical specimen collection duties according to established practices.
- They maintain necessary records and documentation while promoting a positive and professional image to patients, clients, employees and the public.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexibility in schedule, including potential weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
- Minimum of 6 months experience.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under supervisor direction.
- Maintain a safe, clean and professional work environment.
- Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and professionalism when interacting with patients and the public.
- High attention to accuracy and detail.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in certain states).
