• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy and in the performance of other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• If PTCB certified, coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the operation of pharmacy systems and cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with top-value customers.

• Assist the pharmacist in practice of pharmacy and review compliance with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Execute duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, including entering patient data, filling prescriptions, reviewing medication interactions, and assisting pharmacists in scheduling and workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and follow company policies concerning pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy on Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable dispensing activities.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register and manage cash as required.
• Assist customers to the OTC aisle when possible.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including those to physicians.
• Process and resubmit manual claims for third-party prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
• Support the Pharmacy Department in inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking shipment, and maintaining records of overages or shortages.
• Assisting in clinical services, collection, labeling of samples, and coordination of Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
• Help build relationships with local medical community and other health care providers.
• Maintain a clean, organized Pharmacy Department with adequate supplies.
• Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state-required certification/registration; eligible for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager and acquire continuing education credits, keeping up-to-date with healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Six months’ experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
