Customer Service Representative / Dispatcher

Full-Time | On-site | Lake Station, IN

Starting at $16/hour (based on experience)

Openings with our company don’t come up often. We are a stable, well-established Northwest Indiana business, and this is a rare opportunity to join our team in a key front-office role.

We are seeking a dependable, highly organized professional (preferably someone who loves cats 🐾) to serve as the central communication hub of our company. This role blends customer service, dispatching, and substantial clerical and invoicing responsibilities and is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, accountability, and keeping a business running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming customer calls
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate dispatching of field personnel
  • Monitor daily operations and track technician activity
  • Maintain detailed records, documentation, and customer files
  • Prepare, process, and manage invoicing and administrative paperwork
  • Assess customer needs and resolve concerns professionally
  • Follow established procedures while identifying improvements
  • Support overall office operations and assist with additional duties
  • Work flexible or extended hours when business needs require

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven customer service and/or office experience
  • Dispatching, scheduling, or operations coordination experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail and comfort handling responsibility
  • Excellent phone presence and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Microsoft Excel experience is a plus
  • Confidence working with PC-based systems and office software

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year customer service experience preferred
  • 1+ year dispatching or related office experience preferred
  • 1+ year experience with Microsoft Outlook and Word required
  • Reliable ability to commute to Lake Station, IN
