Performs computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists. This position does not perform biopsy procedures.
Responsibilities- Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
- Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Completion of a Radiology Technology program
Experience
- No experience required
Licenses/Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
- ARRT certifications as applicable to Radiography/CT (see combined list in original)
- State-specific CT credential or NMTCB equivalents as required
- Radiologic Technologist license or temporary accreditation as applicable by location
Physical Requirements
- Constant standing and walking; frequent vision and hearing use
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling 0-25 lbs; occasional 25-50 lbs
- Frequent patient handling and data entry; occasional kneeling and squatting
