Performs computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists. This position does not perform biopsy procedures.

• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
• Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Completion of a Radiology Technology program

Experience

• No experience required

Licenses/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
• ARRT certifications as applicable to Radiography/CT (see combined list in original)
• State-specific CT credential or NMTCB equivalents as required
• Radiologic Technologist license or temporary accreditation as applicable by location

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing and walking; frequent vision and hearing use
• Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling 0-25 lbs; occasional 25-50 lbs
• Frequent patient handling and data entry; occasional kneeling and squatting
