Gas Station- Fuel Attendant

Overview

Space Age Gas Attendant: The Gas Station Attendant is responsible for pumping gas for customers and filling propane tanks when the customer requests it. Keeping gas pumps clean, as well as the area around the gas station. Picking up garbage on occasion and cleaning up gas spills on occasion. Handling cash from customers, making changes, and balancing a till. Working efficiently during both busy and slow times.

Must possess the ability to recognize when a task needs to be done and complete it independently.

• Pump gas for customers and fill propane tanks on request.
• Keep gas pumps and surrounding area clean; pick up garbage; clean up gas spills when needed.
• Handle cash from customers, make change, and balance the till.
• Work efficiently during both busy and slow periods; recognize tasks and complete them independently.

• A minimum of three months of related vehicle fueling experience preferred.
• At least six months of cash handling experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work under pressure and fuel multiple vehicles simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and able to complete tasks without constant direction.
• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

This position functions primarily outside at our gas station pumps. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cold and hot weather. The employee may be required to stand for prolonged periods of time, operate a cash register, and communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to communicate with a two-way radio.
