Job Title:
Compliance Officer IV
Job Location:
Pittsburgh, PA 15258/Manhattan, NY 10286/Lake Mary, FL 32746
Duration: 12 months+ (Possible Extension)
Responsibilities:
1. Contract Interpretation & Compliance Translation
Read and interpret contractual requirements, including:
Service level obligations (SLAs)
Data protection and confidentiality clauses
Audit rights
Regulatory flow-down requirements
Translate contractual language into actionable operational compliance controls.
2. Regulatory & Operational Compliance
Translate regulatory requirements into operational processes and controls.
Ensure sustained compliance without slowing down delivery.
Align compliance activities with federal regulations.
Identify compliance gaps/issues and present remediation solutions.
3. Flow-Down & Third-Party Oversight
Ensure contractual obligations are properly flowed down to:
Vendors
Subcontractors
Partners
Monitor third-party compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
Understand vendor and subcontractor interactions and oversight models.
4. Audit Readiness & Evidence Management
Build, organize, and maintain audit-ready documentation and evidence.
Support:
Contractual compliance audits
Regulatory audits
Control execution validation
Ensure SLAs and compliance obligations are continuously met and documented.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with:
Business teams
Legal teams
Risk teams
Internal stakeholders
Work collaboratively in an Agile environment.
Initially collaborate closely with the second hire, then divide responsibilities.
Must Have Skills & Experience:
5+ years of compliance experience.
Previous financial services industry experience (required).
Strong experience interpreting contracts and translating them into operational controls.
Regulatory flow-down requirements
Operational compliance frameworks
Audit requirements and audit-ready documentation
Experience managing vendor and subcontractor compliance.
Strong understanding of SLAs and compliance monitoring.
Ability to build and maintain audit-ready evidence.
Strong problem-solving ability:
Identify compliance issues
Present clear remediation solutions
Task-driven personality with strong sense of urgency.
Ability to work onsite 4+ days per week (Pittsburgh preferred, then Lake Mary, then New York).
Ability to relocate for a Day 1 start if not local.
Ability to work in an Agile environment.
Strong stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Skills / Nice-to-Have:
Previous federal government experience.
Experience aligning compliance with federal regulations.
Experience working in highly regulated environments involving regulatory flow-downs.
Experience in environments with third-party risk oversight.
Interest or eligibility for potential conversion to full-time (FTE).
