Position Summary

Caya Health is seeking a self-motivated, energetic Medical Assistant to work in a rapidly growing healthcare organization. The role requires flexibility in hours and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent personal skills and be comfortable working with patients in a clinical setting.

Under medical supervision, assists physicians in delivering healthcare services and performs related duties. Responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supporting administrative and clinical tasks at Caya Health.

Essential Duties

Discuss daily schedule with the provider.

Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments.

Assist with check-in and appointment confirmation.

Record patient vital signs and update EMR system.

Assist with treatments and examinations.

Update medication lists and prepare provider orders.

Handle prescription refills and prior authorizations.

Notify patients of changes ordered by the provider.

Ensure documentation is signed and compliant with policies.

Assist with drawing blood and specimen preparation.

Manage patient calls and triage.

Support clinical departments as needed.

Billing and Collections

Verify insurance and bill appropriately.

Audit billing codes and ensure documentation completion.

Track charges and educate providers on billing procedures.

Address billing discrepancies.

Manage incoming faxes and billing updates.

Compliance

Adhere to legal, safety, and privacy standards.

Participate in training and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

High School Diploma or higher.
Medical Assistant Certification (preferred).
Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and software.
Experience with patient registration and insurance verification.
Effective communication skills.
Flexibility in a changing environment.
