Position Summary

Caya Health is seeking a self-motivated, energetic Medical Assistant to work in a rapidly growing healthcare organization. The role requires flexibility in hours and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent personal skills and be comfortable working with patients in a clinical setting.

Under medical supervision, assists physicians in delivering healthcare services and performs related duties. Responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supporting administrative and clinical tasks at Caya Health.

Essential Duties
  • Discuss daily schedule with the provider.
  • Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments.
  • Assist with check-in and appointment confirmation.
  • Record patient vital signs and update EMR system.
  • Assist with treatments and examinations.
  • Update medication lists and prepare provider orders.
  • Handle prescription refills and prior authorizations.
  • Notify patients of changes ordered by the provider.
  • Ensure documentation is signed and compliant with policies.
  • Assist with drawing blood and specimen preparation.
  • Manage patient calls and triage.
  • Support clinical departments as needed.
  • Billing and Collections
  • Verify insurance and bill appropriately.
  • Audit billing codes and ensure documentation completion.
  • Track charges and educate providers on billing procedures.
  • Address billing discrepancies.
  • Manage incoming faxes and billing updates.
  • Compliance
  • Adhere to legal, safety, and privacy standards.
  • Participate in training and process improvement initiatives.
  • Requirements
    • High School Diploma or higher.
    • Medical Assistant Certification (preferred).
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and software.
    • Experience with patient registration and insurance verification.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Flexibility in a changing environment.
