Job Summary

Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative individual to join its Industrial Management baccalaureate program. This position will report to the Chair of the Division of Mechanical and Construction Technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing curriculum and classroom instruction for Industrial and Commercial Construction Management classes using a variety of traditional and innovative teaching methods.
  • Planning and preparing schedules for the entire Construction Management program.
  • Acting as the Program Coordinator for Construction Management.
  • Assisting in the advisement of students.
  • Teaching on campus and at offsite locations, including local high schools.
  • Serving on various assigned college committees.
Physical Demands

Ability to move about the classroom and laboratories, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, climbing, vision, hearing, talking, and ability to drive to off campus locations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Industrial/Commercial Construction from a regionally accredited college or university; minimum of 3 years of related work experience;
  • Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution;
  • Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations;
  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, surveying, mechanical engineering or related building construction technology or construction management field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management.
