About our Church

First Baptist Church Lake Jackson, Texas is a multi-generational, Southern Baptist Church located along the coast in Texas, about an hour south of Houston. We are passionate about being the church God wants us to be, to Know Him and Make Him Known! Typical attendance on Sunday morning is 400 - 450 and growing. God is moving in a great way in our church, and we are excited for this next season of ministry, including our next Worship Pastor.

About

the Position

The Worship Pastor will lead the worship team, seeking the Lord’s direction and aligning with the Senior Pastor as His under-shepherd. This includes planning, music selection, team building, rehearsals, leading the congregation special programs, and other duties. As a key member of the staff, the Worship Pastor serves in a pastoral capacity in addition to worship through music. This includes outreach, hospital visits, prayer and Bible study, missions, and coordination with other church activities.

As a multigenerational church, we are seeking a worship leader that can assist in integrating music styles from various styles and generations primarily in one dynamic worship service each week. We currently have a choir, orchestra, and praise band. Our church worship style is an intentional blend, with some hymns, but mostly modern contemporary songs, while still incorporating the choir and orchestra.

The ideal candidate will have some level of experience working with each of these musical groups, as well as with hymns and contemporary music style. We desire someone who can lead our church with passion and energy! Our desire as a church is to reach our community in a relevant and impactful way! We desire to be open to adjust as the Lord leads to reach our community for Jesus, while staying true to the foundation of our church.
