Nurse Extern PRN

This is a Department of Nursing Service position that provides delivery of patient care with the knowledge of a Nurse Extern. Will work directly under the supervision of a Registered Nurse on the unit to which assigned. The Nurse Extern shall function under the direction of a preceptor and shall not perform any clinical procedure out of the approved scope of practice and without having validation of skill competency by RN preceptor.

Strives daily to give all customers very good care and promotes Havasu Regional Medical Centers’ Standards of Behavior and other duties as assigned.

• Work directly under the supervision of a Registered Nurse on the unit to which assigned, functioning under the direction of a preceptor.
• Shall not perform any clinical procedure out of the approved scope of practice and shall obtain validation of skill competency by the RN preceptor before performing such procedures.
• Deliver patient care in alignment with the Nurse Extern knowledge and departmental standards.
• Strive daily to provide very good care to all customers and promote Havasu Regional Medical Center's Standards of Behavior.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be currently enrolled in good standing in approved Nursing Program and be in third or forth semester of classes.
• GPA of 3.0 required to be in extern program.
• CPR required.
