What You'll Do (Responsibilities)- Utilize your plan-of-care intervention and act as a patient-care innovator to shape exceptional patient journeys.
- Perform imaging special and invasive procedures in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
- Report to:
Cardiac Cath Lab Clinical Manager. - Prepare the special procedures lab and sterile table for various procedures; practice sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination.
- Check emergency equipment, conduct daily quality control on equipment, and manage supplies and inventory in a cost-effective manner.
- Place exams in Taken status after completion and verify charges via the audit trail; align patient monitoring with procedure needs.
- Prepare and position patients and equipment per physician instructions; ensure all consents and medical records are available prior to procedures.
- Monitor patient condition during procedures and coordinate patient monitoring with the procedure nurse.
- Route images to PACS and burn CDs as necessary; assist with terminal cleaning of the special procedures room after procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients and families to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
- Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required. BLS is not required if ACLS is held. - Experience:
One year of radiology experience in healthcare settings preferred. Venipuncture experience required. - Licensure: AARRT (R) Preferred
- Education:
Associate degree or programmatic equivalent required.
- Essential:
Implements, coordinates and delegates special procedures care; prepares labs; maintains sterile technique; monitors patient status; ensures proper documentation and patient identifiers are verified. - Non-Essential:
Attends meetings, participates in projects/committees, performs reception and transport duties, and processes work orders.
