Short Term Rental Administrator/Code Enforcement Officer, Lake Geneva, WI (pop. 8,277). Historic, beautiful community with a charming downtown, Lake Geneva is 10 miles north of the Illinois state line, 75 miles northwest of Chicago and 45 miles southwest of Milwaukee. The City is seeking a Short Term Rental (STR) and Code Enforcement professional to manage the STR licensing program including inspection and enforcement of the STR regulations while also assisting with city wide zoning enforcement cases.

Lake Geneva is proud of its small-town appeal, historical sites and vibrant residential neighborhoods. The City has a rich history that complements its current attractions of beaches, boating, specialty shops, galleries, golfing and other outdoor activities. Lake Geneva is a regional and national tourist destination and currently has over 100 short term rental properties plus commercial lodging locations.

The City is seeking a highly organized administrative professional with strong communication skills and exceptional record keeping skills. The STR Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for performing a variety of complex professional and administrative work in handling the STR software and licensing program and enforcing the City’s zoning regulations.

• High School diploma or equivalent, zoning enforcement certification, associate’s degree in business or trades preferred
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with a background in either real estate, code enforcement or building inspections
• A minimum of 3 years office/administrative/inspection or related equivalent experience
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to deal with confrontational situations
• Proficiency in a variety of computer platforms including Microsoft Office, META platforms, social media and other related software

The STR Code Enforcement Officer position is appointed by, and reports to the Building and Zoning Director. The starting salary range is $69,376 to $72,889 DOQ, plus an excellent benefit package.
