Position: Nurse Clinician-Ortho Full Time Days $3,000 Sign On Bonus

The salary range for this position is $34.50 - $55.20 (Hourly Rate). Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. Description

Full Time, salaried position, 40 hours per week located on the Lake Forest hospital campus.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8a-5p. This role is primarily a triage position involving response to patient calls and messages via phone and Epic EMR system.

Nurse Clinician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Nurse Clinician will work in a multidisciplinary environment requiring exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and administrative units. The position will involve nursing skill use to perform patient assessments via phone or in person, implementing interventions, using independent judgment, and initiating patient education for the unit’s population.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, report deficiencies, assist in rectifying deficiencies, and supervise appropriate care of medical equipment.
  • Provide pre‑attending care for patients, perform comprehensive assessment of chief complaint and patient needs, seek solutions, offer opinions to physicians and other health care providers, and document all nursing assessments.
  • Perform routine nursing duties and demonstrate clinical competency, including phlebotomy, medication administration, vital sign measurement, lab specimen preparation, and complex specialty‑related procedures.
  • Interpret and define abnormalities detected in tests and procedures, take appropriate remedial action, and document interventions.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments to coordinate appropriate patient care and communicate with outside agencies or facilities as required.
  • Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills and service standards; document all assessments.
