The Director of Operations is responsible for strategic and operational leadership, including developing policies, managing budgets, and ensuring high-quality patient care. They act as a liaison between medical staff and administration, focusing on improving patient satisfaction, staff productivity, and financial performance.
Qualifications and Experience- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required;
Master’s degree a plus. - Experience:
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in healthcare operations management, including proven experience in billing, hiring, and strategic growth. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems, medical billing software, and Microsoft Office Suite. - Leadership
Skills:
Strong personnel management, communication, and analytical skills.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on business development.
- High level of accountability and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying root causes of billing or operational delays.
1. Revenue Cycle & Billing Management (Financial Focus)
Oversee end-to-end billing operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reimbursement.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as AR days, collection rates, and denial trends.
Oversee payment posting and collections.
Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and optimize cash flow.
2. Human Resources & Staff Hiring (Operational Focus)Manage the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, and retention of staff.
Perform employee evaluations, establish performance standards, and address disciplinary issues.
Develop staffing models to ensure proper coverage and maximize efficiency.
Foster a positive work environment and promote professional development.
3. Marketing & Advertising (Growth Focus)Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote visibility of services.
Cultivate relationships with referring physicians and community partners.
Direct social media campaigns, community events, and promotional activities.
Evaluate marketing spend to maximize ROI.
4. Strategic Operations & ComplianceFormulate and implement policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols.
Ensure adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, state, and federal regulations.
Manage facility budgets, vendor contracts, and resource allocation.
Utilize EHR/EMR systems to track data and improve workflow.
