Overview
The salary range for this position is $43.26 - $60.56 (Hourly Rate). Placement within the salary range is dependent on relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

- This is a Full Time position at 40 hours per week requiring travel between Lake Forest and Glenview clinics, with possible travel to the Grayslake clinic in the future. Hours will be 5 (8-hour days) or 4 (10-hour days) per week depending on the schedule.
Ultrasonographer reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Ultrasonographer supports the physician by performing technically expert diagnostic ultrasound and related procedures to aid in diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with various health conditions. This role must consistently demonstrate concern for the patient to reduce anxiety and promote comfort and tolerance of the procedure.
Responsibilities- Assesses the patient, evaluates requests for diagnostic ultrasound services, and determines the appropriate method.
- Prepares equipment/accessories, completes sterile tray preparation, positions the patient, and performs ultrasound and related procedures.
- Lifts and transports patients to and from imaging devices.
- Provides patient education before, during, and after procedures.
- Observes the patient and communicates pertinent information to the physician.
- Generates patient reports and sends acquired images electronically for accession/retrieval.
- Ensures continuity of care through effective interactions with other departments.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, troubleshoots malfunctions, and reports deficiencies to management.
- Monitors supply stock to ensure adequate reserves.
- Collects data to measure and track quality management.
- Supports department initiatives (formal/informal process improvement, problem solving).
- Instructs and provides clinical guidance to students.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Required
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification.
- Diploma or certificate of completion from an accredited medical sonography program.
- Zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience in a relevant role.
- Technical competency in relevant specialty.
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification relevant to specialty area/modality.
