Salary Range: $17.00 – $22.95 per hour

- Clean and maintain patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens, and sanitizing all surfaces.
- Follow policies and procedures on patient isolation and contact precautions as necessary.
- Stock paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
- Maintain cart and equipment in clean, working condition and store in appropriate storage area.
- Promote safety in the workplace (e.g., use wet floor signs, PPE, not leave housekeeping cart or supplies unattended).
- Use chemicals and equipment safely, keeping them properly labeled and diluted at correct ratio.
- Notify supervisor of equipment needing repairs. Report all safety hazards to manager.
- Communicate to supervisor any issues, including inability to complete schedule and proactively address observed deficiencies.
- Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with hospital personnel while ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
- Articulate designed scripting model to each customer served.
- Use organizational and unit/department resources efficiently.
- Manage work schedule efficiently, completing tasks and assignments on time.
- Contribute to opportunities and processes for continuous improvement.
- Participate in efforts to reduce costs, streamline work processes, improve and grow services provided.
- Present a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
- Provide accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers. Address questions and concerns promptly, or identify appropriate person and resources to do so. Provide directions or help patients and customers with finding their way.
- Use effective service recovery skills to solve problems or service breakdowns when they occur.
- Demonstrate teamwork by helping co‑workers within and across departments; communicate effectively, respect diverse opinions and styles, and acknowledge the assistance and contributions of others.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Effective communication with patients, visitors and staff.
- Use of proper tracking and communication tools utilized by department.
- Ability to work independently.
- Physical demands: lift/carry up to 50 pounds; push/pull force up to 50 pounds.
- One to three years of environmental services experience in a healthcare or hospitality environment.
