LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Global Sourcing Specialist to join our client's organization in the Lake Forest, IL area.
Key Responsibilities- Support global sourcing activities for new and existing product lines to meet cost, quality, and lead‑time objectives
- Prepare and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs), analyze supplier responses, and support sourcing decisions
- Identify opportunities for cost improvement, lead‑time reduction, and quality enhancement across the supply base
- Evaluate raw material, labor, and currency impacts on total cost of goods
- Communicate effectively with domestic and overseas suppliers to ensure alignment on specifications, timelines, and expectations
- Partner cross‑functionally with product development, quality, supply chain, sales, and marketing teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Assist in supplier qualification and documentation, including development of supplier profiles and technical data
- Coordinate sample requests, testing, approvals, and logistics between suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Support packaging, labeling, and artwork approvals to ensure production readiness and avoid rework
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Purchasing, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience in strategic sourcing, purchasing, or supplier management, preferably within consumer goods or manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of global sourcing practices, including overseas suppliers and international logistics
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and product documentation
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess cost drivers and recommend improvement opportunities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with experience interfacing with internal teams and external suppliers
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
- Willingness to collaborate across time zones and communicate with overseas suppliers as needed
