Facilities Engineer II – Full Time Evenings

Location:

Lake Forest Hospital, Lake Forest, IL. This full‑time position operates 40 hours per week on the evening/second shift (Sunday – Thursday).

Responsible for operating and maintaining building mechanical systems and power plant equipment, including high‑pressure boilers, chillers, medical air compressors, and related electrical and HVAC components. Requires a licensed stationary engineer or the ability to obtain registration within one year of hire.

• Operate and assist in maintaining and repairing all power plant equipment with minor supervision.
• Monitor engineering systems and take emergency actions as necessary.
• Operate high‑pressure boilers, chillers, cooling towers, domestic hot water heating system, and other facility equipment.
• Perform safety checks on plant equipment and conduct preventive maintenance.
• Clean and paint equipment, piping, and associated accessories in power plant and mechanical rooms.
• Conduct chemical analyses of boiler, chiller, and cooling tower systems.
• Accurately add chemicals to maintain prescribed balances in closed‑loop systems.
