Store Assistant Manager
Responsibilities
- Take an active role and partner with the Store Manager in day-to-day operations, including opening/closing, POS operations, inventory management, ARC merchandising standards (CNO Standards) and donations.
- Assume responsibility for all day-to-day store operations (including personnel and cash handling) in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Assist Store Manager to monitor and analyze KPIs to drive store sales and profitability per budgets and goals.
- In the absence of Store Manager, schedule employees to ensure coverage; coordinate morning and shift-change meetings; maintain payroll records and time/attendance edits.
- Assist with hiring, training, directing the store team, and development/performance coaching of store employees.
- Communicate personnel issues and performance results with the Store Manager; may issue disciplinary actions in coordination with HR and leadership.
- Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and maintain community relations; develop strategies to improve service.
- BRP (Back Room Processing) support to ensure effective processing to meet daily goals.
- Supervise and report on program Beneficiaries when Work Therapy assignments are in place.
- Protect and secure store currency, inventory, property, and building security; manage deposits and safe funds as required.
- Ensure the building is secured during non-operating hours and alarm protocols are followed.
- Ensure safety measures align with ARC policy and regulations; report safety issues/incidents; participate in weekly and monthly safety meetings.
- May transfer or be relocated to other stores based on business needs.
- Complete tasks as assigned by District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors, and Command Administration.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of Retail Management/Supervisory experience (thrift experience preferred).
- Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must hold a valid Driver's license, pass MVR, proof of insurance, and have access to a motor vehicle.
- Must pass background check (Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry).
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers, and donors.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, carts, racks, fixtures, and related equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
Schedule- Work schedules are determined by Management; the employee must be flexible to ensure adequate coverage.
- Full-time employees may be scheduled to work any shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
