As a Senior Engineer supporting Research & Development, you will play a pivotal role in advancing projects focused on the development and evaluation of sapphire fibers for integration into Alcon’s innovative fiber‑optic technologies. Your responsibilities will include optimizing and enhancing the performance of the fibers.
responsibilities
- Collaborate with staff to investigate the properties of sapphire fibers
- Measure, polish, and test tips and fibers
- Support research activities pertaining to performance improvements of sapphire fibers
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (high school +10 yrs; Associate +6 yrs; M.S. +0 yrs)
- English language proficiency
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience with fiber engineering and lasers; opto‑mechanical skills desired
- Programming knowledge, specifically Python and LabVIEW
- Willing to be hands‑on to grow, polish, and test sapphire fiber
