** Senior Engineer
** supporting
** Research & Development,
** you will play a pivotal role in advancing projects focused on the development and evaluation of sapphire fibers for integration into Alcon’s innovative fiber-optic technologies. Your responsibilities will include optimizing and enhancing the performance of the  this role, a typical day will include:
* Collaborate with staff to investigate the properties of sapphire fibers
* Measure, polish, and test tips and fibers
* Support research activities pertaining to performance improvements of sapphire fibers
** WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
*** Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
* The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
* 2 Years of Relevant Experience
* Experience with fiber engineering and lasers; opto-mechanical skills desired
* Programming knowledge, specifically Python and Labview
* Willing to be hands-on to grow, polish, and test sapphire fiber
