Traffic Signal Supervisor

Overview

The City of Lake City is accepting applications for the position of Traffic Signal Supervisor in the Public Works Department. This is responsible supervisory work in the installation, maintenance and repair for computerized traffic signal systems and control equipment: leads, schedules, and directs traffic signalization projects or complex bench repair work and the inspection, maintenance and repair of traffic signal systems and components and street lights.

This position reports to the Director of Public Works.

The Traffic Signal Supervisor provides supervision and direction for installation, maintenance and repair of computerized traffic signal systems and control equipment. Responsibilities include leading, scheduling and directing traffic signalization projects or complex bench repair work, and inspecting, maintaining and repairing traffic signal systems, components and street lights. This role reports to the Director of Public Works.

• Applicant must be a High School graduate or have a General Education Diploma (GED) with five (5) years of electronics repair experience that includes a minimum of two (2) years with traffic signal equipment; or completion of two (2) years technical or vocational program with a diploma or certification in a directly related field and a minimum of two (2) years of traffic signal experience.
• Applicant must possess or be able to obtain a valid Class “B” Florida Commercial Driver’s License, with air brakes endorsement.

• IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician Level II
• IMSA Signs & Pavement Markings Technician Level I
• IMSA Roadway Lighting Technician Level I
• MOT Intermediate or Work Traffic Control Certification
