OSP Telecommunications Helper

Overview

A leading telecommunications vendor with a strong presence across the East Coast is seeking an OSP (Outside Plant) Helper to support its construction crews on a project based in Lake City, FL. The company provides full turnkey solutions for both wireless and wireline sectors, supporting major national carriers.

This is a contract position with work expected to be completed by June 30, 2026
, with a soft potential for extension or conversion depending on project needs.

• Assist outside plant construction crews with daily tasks, including:
• Open trenching
• Fiber and cable/conduit runs
• Underground support
• PVC pipe laying
• Equipment handling
• Inventory management
• Directional drilling
• General digging and manual labor
• Serve as the lead s  right hand  to ensure timely project completion
• Support telecom infrastructure initiatives, including work with third-party partners

• Primary worksite:
  Lake City, FL
• Candidates must be local to the Lake City area and available to meet the team onsite daily
• Travel may be required within a 40-mile radius of Lake City

• Minimum 1 year of experience in OSP telecommunications construction
• Strong knowledge of hand tools and mechanical aptitude (telecom experience preferred)
• Must be reliable, self-motivated, professional, respectful, and possess a strong work ethic

• Comfortable working in Florida s outdoor conditions, including heat and manual labor
• Eager to take initiative and always looking for the next task
• Team-oriented and dependable

• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Punctual and dependable
• Ability to work effectively in a team of four (Foreman, Equipment Operator, and two laborers)
• Quick learner with the ability to retain information and follow instructions

Note: Open to entry-level ("green") candidates who demonstrate a strong attitude, willingness to learn, and solid work ethic.

This is a Contract position based out of Lake City, FL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
